Katrin Abromeit, Eva Hallama and Dominik Ivancic created together with Dominic Zimmel (Österreichische Mediathek) a 10 minute sound collage of audio letters collected by the SONIME project.
The focus of the collage was on sequences that thematize the recording technique, drawing attention to the materiality and the act of speaking into a technical machine, which often represented an attempt to mimic a dialogic conversation. Herein, the technical device opened up its own space of communication, and at times seemed to disrupt the cultural practice of communicating as much as it enabled it.

Katrin Abromeit, Eva Hallama and Dominik Ivancic presented the collage as well as the SONIME project at the AESR Lab Kick-Off. In an Q&A they answered questions to their methodological approach and to the project in general.
