The workshop was organised by the SONIME team. We had several questions for our workshop: What needs to be considered when collecting and documenting private sources on migration history? How can we document objects in the interests of donors? What are the needs of donors to the archive? We used examples from archive catalogues to analyse if the perspective of migrants is considered in the catalogue descriptions. Are migrants visible as agents, as the creators of these sources?

In our three-hour workshop we compiled a list of proposals to improve the documentation of private sources on migration history in archives.
