
Dominik Ivancic
Dominik Ivancic is a historian and writer. He worked as a project assistant at SONIME at the Department of Media Theory (University of Applied Arts Vienna) and Österreichische Mediathek (Vienna Museum of Science and Technology) from December 2022 until October 2025.
He studied history (University of Vienna, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), comparative literature (University of Vienna) and language arts (University of Applied Arts Vienna). He worked in several institutions as an educator and research associate (e. g. House of Austrian History, Literature Museum of the Austrian National Library). In addition, he organized several conferences for (under)graduate scientists (under.docs), was co-editor of the conference proceedings Future in Progress and of the literature anthology IO. 10 Jahre Institut für Sprachkunst.
As a writer he won the Track 5 Ö1 short radio play competition 2016 with the radio play “Sollbruchstelle” and the third price at the “Hörspielsommer” 2024 in Leipzig with the radio play “Die Wohnmaschine” and was awarded the project scholarship for literature from the City of Vienna 2021 and 2023. He publishes in literature magazines, anthologies and conference proceedings.
